· They are far away from their family of origin · They’ve created a chosen family · It’s better for their mental health · It’s too much to travel · You have more fun celebrating a particular holiday with friends ·

Whatever the reason, I hope that you spend any holiday — no matter how big, small, simple, or important — with those that you feel the most comfortable with.

What holidays might people spend with friends?

  • Religious holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Easter, Ramadan, Chinese New Year, or the Holiday Season
  • New Year
  • Romantic holidays like Valentine’s Day. Celebrate friend love instead of a romantic relationship.
  • National Holidays such as the Fourth of July
